Pharmacists & Administration

David Shepard is a board certified psychiatric pharmacist, community pharmacist, educator, and author. He spent 23 years as a clinical psychiatric pharmacist at the VA Hospital in Nashville while working and managing three community drug stores. David has been involved in local politics in Dickson as a member of the city council and vice mayor. He served as the District 69 State Representative 2000-2016. He continues to be very involved in community activities. David has served as the president of the Dickson County UT Alumni Association and member of the UT College of Pharmacy Alumni Board. He has received numerous leadership awards including the 1998 Bowl of Hygeia and 2000 Tom C. Sharp Pharmacist of the Year. David is currently the president of the Community Pharmacy Care, Inc. Board of Directors. 

Martha Shepard is a community pharmacist who has worked in many other fields of pharmacy practice including home infusion, hospital, and chain pharmacy since graduating from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in 1973. She has been dedicated to several local community organizations and political organizations for many years. She has served as the preceptor for many students at Dickson Apothecary and has served as president of the 11th district Tennessee Pharmacist Association and secretary of the Tennessee Pharmacist Association Independent Pharmacy Society. Martha received the Merck Pharmacist award in 1992 and the Bowl of Hygeia award in 2007. Martha is currently the secretary of Community Pharmacy, Inc. 

Susan Shepard has worked as a community pharmacist at Dickson Apothecary since graduating from Samford School of Pharmacy in 1987. Susan is certified in immunization administration. She is a member of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association and is active in many local community activities. She is currently the pharmacist-in-charge of Dickson Apothecary and Chief Financial Officer of Community Pharmacy Care, Inc. 

Marty Gentry earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in 2001. After working for a chain pharmacy for a year, Marty joined Community Pharmacy Care in 2002. Marty is certified in diabetes and asthma education and immunization administration. Marty is a member of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association and served as president of the Dickson, Hickman, Houston, and Humphreys Counties District from 2004-2006. He is the pharmacist-in-charge of Kingston Springs Pharmacy where he precepts students from several colleges of pharmacy. Marty is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Community Pharmacy Care, Inc. 

Leslie Shepard has worked at Dickson Apothecary and other Community Pharmacy Care pharmacies since 1999 as a clerk, a technician and now as a pharmacist. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science in 2007. She earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in 2010 and returned to Dickson Apothecary as a staff pharmacist. Leslie is an active member and the 2016-2017 President of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association.  She is certified to administer immunizations and in diabetes management. Leslie is a preceptor for many pharmacy students in Tennessee. She is actively involved in the Drug Free Dickson Coalition and other community programs. Leslie is currently a stockholder in Community Pharmacy Care, Inc.

Todd Oldham was born and raised in Lyles, Tennessee and graduated from Hickman County High School in 2002. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Belmont University in 2006. He began working at Dickson Apothecary as a technician during his time in Belmont. Todd earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in 2010 and returned to Dickson Apothecary as a staff pharmacist. He is a member of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association. He has a solid background of compounding experience and training in hormone replacement therapy. Todd is currently the pharmacist-in-charge of Dickson Compounding Pharmacy. 

Sue Chester began working for Community Pharmacy Care in 2003. In 1987, she moved to Dickson from Atlanta, Georgia, to be closer to family is Dickson and Waverly. She has a degree in Marketing/Accounting from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. Sue is currently the Office Manager of Community Pharmacy Care, Inc. and handles the day-to-day business operations of Community Pharmacy Care including accounts payable, payroll, and taxes. 

Shelly Winstead joined the Community Pharmacy Care team in 1996 as a pharmacy clerk and technician. She was born in Humphreys County where she still resides. She became a certified pharmacy technician in 1998 and has gained experience in many areas of pharmacy practice including compounding and clinical practice. Shelly is an active member and the 2017-2018 Chair for Pharmacy Technician Society of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association. Shelly is actively involved in the Drug Free Dickson Coalition and a board member of Humphreys County Drug Alliance. She holds multiple compounding certificates in varied areas. In June 2011, she was featured in the Professional Compounding Centers of America's publication The Apothegram, which is distributed to PCCA members throughout the United States, Canada, and Australia. Shelly is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Community Pharmacy Care, Inc. and handles information technology,  software, insurance, purchasing, compliance, and many other aspects of the company's business.
